New Entrants Information
Hilltop Infant School is home to Janeway, the school dog, who is on-site every day and actively engaged with staff and children on a regular basis. Children will have the opportunity to learn how to care for Janeway and how to keep safe when meeting other dogs in the local community.
As from September 2018 Hilltop Infant School will be a school dinner school. This is a free meal provided by the school to all children joining in September 2018. All dietary requirements will be catered for by the school. No packed lunches will be allowed for new entrants.
Also from September 2018 new entrants will not be allowed to wear earrings at any time during the school day. These must be removed before coming into school by a parent or guardian. The school will not accommodate newly pierced ears so we would like to advise parents/guardians to consider carefully when they chose to have their children's ears pierced e.g. summer holidays.
As part of the HEARTS Academy Trust, respect is at the core of our ethos. We aim to educate our children about all the different people, cultures and religions in our world today. This will include trips to churches, synagogues and mosques where attendance to each is expected to help build this respect and understanding we would all want our children to have.
Forest Schools is an excellent opportunity for children to explore the great outdoors in an exciting and fun way. There is an expectation for all children who join the Hilltop family to engage with this wonderful experience.
We value the learning opportunities granted to us by our extensive outdoor learning environment which children access daily and in all weather conditions. Children are encouraged to dress appropriately depending on the weather.
The development of all our children is the result of a highly collaborative partnership between home and school. It is therefore essential that the school can rely on support from home with your child’s education through a range of activities including reading, homework and projects.
If you have any queries please feel free to contact the school on 01268 762531.
